POMCO Group KissCam Goes National

1/28/2010

Over the years POMCO Group has encouraged couples to kiss on camera by sponsoring Syracuse University Carrier Dome's KissCam. The KissCam locates couples during basketball and football breaks and places them on the Dome's gigantic television screens, enticing them to kiss.

On January 25, during the Syracuse-Georgetown game, Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney, and her husband, Mark Overdyk locked in an embrace that made national news. ESPN arranged for announcers Sean McDonough, Jay Bilas and Bill Raftery to receive kisses from SU cheerleaders. Their kisses, along with the Mahoney/Overdyk kiss, and kisses from two other couples, were broadcasted on ESPN. Coverage of the kisses were also found on Internet sites such as Youtube and Syracuse.com

Last weekend POMCO participated in the Dome's backcourt event which gives game attendees an opportunity to play games and purchase SU merchandise before the games and during halftime. POMCO employees prepared backcourt visitors for the KissCam by distributing lip balm and "Pick Me" hand signs to be waved for the cameramen just prior to the KissCam segment.

POMCO Group will participate in the backcourt of the February 14 Syracuse-Louisville game and give attendees a chance to reenact their very own KissCam smooch behind the KissingCam Booth.
