POMCO Group Holds Workers' Compensation Seminar

POMCO Group will hold it's Workers' Compensation Seminar at its corporate headquarters office, 2425 James St. in Syracuse, NY from 9:30 a.m. - noon on October 22. Topics to be covered are:

Overview of Sect 25A Liability / Labor Market Removal Defenses - presented by Ken Goldman, Partner @ Wolff, Goodrich & Goldman
If you've ever wondered what a section Section 25A is or what you need to do to prepare for a Section 25A claim, this session is for you. In addition to defining a Section 25A and providing tips for preparing claims we will also be discussing recent issues and case laws associated with a 25A.

NYS Medical Guidelines and Fee Schedules - presented by Ariann Rockwell and Sharon Miller, POMCO Group - Risk Management Division
The last time New York State published a guidebook defining appropriate medical treatment for workers' compensation injuries was in 1996. Fourteen years later, New York has published updated Medical Treatment Guidelines - if the guidelines are appropriately utilized by physicians and carriers/benefit administrators, and backed by the Board, they hold great potential to decrease medical utilization - and lower overall medical cost. Join POMCO Group directors as they provide an overview of the revamped medical treatment guidelines

Future of Claims Reserving: The Advent of Capped Indemnity Benefits. - presented by Bryan Thompson
As the New York State Workers' Compensation Board begins implementing caps for indemnity benefits, self-insured benefits plans have an opportunity to save significant dollars on lost time claims. This session will inform you of ways to develop options in reserving claims for your company.
